TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Earlham College baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in an HCAC matchup on Saturday.
GAME ONE: EARLHAM 2 RHIT 14
Hayden Scalf started on the bump, and tossed four complete innings with seven hits and five earned runs. The sophomore struck out five.
Dillon Fischer threw two innings out of the bullpen with two hits and two strikeouts.
On offense, Mitchel Roether went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
Phoenix Guzzi went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a sacrifice hit.
GAME TWO: EARLHAM 1 RHIT 11
Kyle Jeffries threw 3.2 innings to begin game two with nine hits allowed and three strikeouts.
Ethan Hear went 2-for-2 with a double off the bench at third base. Guzzi played two spots in the infield, and had one hit with one RBI.
The Quakers will have a quick turnaround with a home doubleheader on Monday afternoon against Principia College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
