Quakees finalists announced

RICHMOND, Ind. -- The results are in! The finalists for the first annual Quakees are here. After a series of voting from the campus and its community, the 2024 Quakees winners will be decided from the listings below. 

Quakees are planned for May 1st  at 6 pm. 

Best Female Individual Performance: Morgan Cooksey (Softball) who earned a win with 16 strikeouts during Softball's first game in 30 years. Mallory Smith (soccer) who scored 4 goals against UC Clermont. Maria Young (volleyball) who got to 1000 kills when up against North Park.

Best Male Individual Performance: Jonathan Jimenez (baseball) with 4-5 and a home run when at bat against Washington College. Mychal Mckelvey (Men's Golf) who set a program record at the first meet of their season for Men's Golf against Rose-Hulman. Mark Resig (Men's Lacrosse) led the Men's Lacrosse team with 11 goals against La Roche helping them to a program high in goals.

Breakout Female Athlete, Ava Walters a sophomore from Volleyball, Lauren Newcomer a sophomore from Volleyball and Bailey Gibson a junior from Basketball.

Breakout Male Athlete, Jonathan Jimenez a sophomore from Baseball, Ethan Rose a sophomore from Track and field/XC and Phoenix Guzzi a senior from Baseball.

Newcomer Female Athlete, Bo Shelton from Softball, Morgan Cooksey from Softball, and Isabel Slone from Soccer.

Newcomer Male Athlete, Ken Walker from Basketball, Kyle Jeffries from Baseball, and Braden Greeno from Lacrosse.

Most Supportive Community Members are Bill Kinsey (Athletic Trainer), Nick Johnson (Assistant Athletic Director), and Gene Hambrick (Senior executive director of the Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Creativity).

Most Supportive Teams are Baseball, Men's golf, and Volleyball.

Earlham Head Coach of the Year is Stacey Goyette (Softball), CD Hockersmith (Golf), and Taylor Lanzillo (Lacrosse).

Earlham Assistant Coach of the Year is Brad Whiles (Soccer), Maddie Moore (Softball), and Garrett Schuler (Golf).

Top Moment of the Year, Softball's sweep on Opening day, Mens Golf breaking school records at Transylvania, and Mallory Smith with a hat trick against UC Clermont.

Earlham Team of the Year is Softball, Men's Golf, and Men's Lacrosse.

Outstanding Female Athletes are Maria Young (Volleyball), Makayla Hurey (Soccer), and Mallory Smith (Soccer).

Outstanding Male Athletes are Mychal Mckelvey (Golf), Max Fries (Baseball), and Ken Walker (Basketball). 

Student Worker of the Year is Alexis Gibson, Jacob Bandfield, and Phoenix Guzzi.

We hope to see everyone in attendance at Goddard Auditorium on May 1st!
