LIMA, Ohio – For the second time this season, Earlham College Men's Golf team has rewritten the Record Book. The Quakers posted a 293 (+9) in Day 2 of the Polar Beaver Classic hosted by Bluffton and Ohio Northern at Hidden Creek Golf Club. The previous record to par was +10 by the 2019-20 squad at the Dan Quayle Invitational. Earlham was led by first-year Arthur Del Bourgo (Metz, France) who tied the school record for the best single round of 69 (-2). Arthur joins Volunteer Assistant Coach, Garrett Schuler '21 in the Record Book.

For the tournament, the Quakers finished 4th in the 11-team tournament with a team score of 603 (+31.) Del Bourgo led the way finishing 11th (79-69) (+5) and junior Adam Strecker (Apopka, FL) also finished in the top 20 finishing 13th (76-73) (+6).  The tournament was won by Spalding University at +3.

Head Coach CD Hockersmith commented on all five record breaking performers.

Junior Mychal McKelvey – "Our top-rated horse was off today, but he will return form."

Junior Adam Strecker – "Great bounce backs both days after tough starts."

Sophomore Vassily Lombard – "Close to tying his career low also at Hidden Creek last year."

First-year Arthur Del Bourgo – "What a round! It was only a matter of time!"

Junior Charles Bowen-Rayner – "Our captain has struggled this spring, but I have full faith he will be ready to go for the HCAC Championship in a month."

The Earlham Women's Golf team was represented by Field Hockey star junior Jalyn Kelsey who finished 76th. The women are at home next Saturday for the Liberty 4Way at Liberty Country Club.

The men return to action next Saturday at the Anderson University Invitational.
