CARMEL, Ind. – On Monday, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference named this week's Athletes of the Week for notable performances across the conference. This week, two Earlham Quakers were among the recipients.
Mallory Smith was named Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after she scored the game-winning goal against Berea to send Earlham to its first HCAC Tournament appearance since 2012. Smith also dished out an assist on the first goal of the match.
Madison Bizjak earned Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors for collecting 58 digs (6.44 digs/set) in a 1-1 week for the Quakers as they battle for the top spot in the HCAC standings. The junior libero also served up six aces with no serving errors on the week.
Earlham volleyball continues its regular season with two home matches this week to end the season. Earlham hosts Rose-Hulman on Wednesday evening, with its final regular season match on Saturday against Mount St. Joseph.
