BEXLEY, Ohio – The Earlham College men's basketball team opened its 2025-26 season with a 72-63 loss at Capital University on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman
Bud Davis led the Quakers on the day with 15 points, three assists and two rebounds.
Donovan Pruitt dished out five assists with 12 points and one steal.
Tommy Reddick also scored double digits with 10 points and two boards.
Connor Smith brought down a team- high six rebounds.
Patrick Hardimon went 4-for-5 on field goals, and scored nine points with three rebounds in his Quaker debut.
Earlham opened the season strong, leading the entire first half after a 16-5 run over the opening five minutes. The Quakers stretched out to a 42-27 lead after a 3-pointer by Pruitt with just over a minute remaining in the half.
Capital opened the second half with a 13-2 run, and tied the game with a 3-pointer at the 14:39 mark. Earlham took a 55-46 lead, but Capital tied the game again at 59 with 6:40 remaining in the half. After Hardimon gave the Quakers a 61-59 lead, Capital outscored the visitors 13-2 in the final six minutes.
Earlham continues play on Tuesday against Wilmington College for the Quaker Bowl in Druley Performance Gym.
