RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's basketball team opened HCAC play with an 86-70 loss to Transylvania University on Wednesday evening in Druley Performance Gym.
Bud Davis led the Quakers with a career-high 30 points, shooting 78% on field goals with five assists and two steals.
Tommy Reddick went 4-for-6 on 3-pointers for a season-high 16 points and four rebounds.
Patrick Hardimon led EC with five rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
Earlham shot 55% on field goals in the first half, including a 6-for-12 line on 3-pointers to trail just 45-43 going into the break. The Quakers trailed 36-26 with seven minutes remaining in the half, and went on a 12-2 run to tie the score after four minutes of game time. Earlham ended the half on a 5-0 run.
The Pioneers reached a double-digit lead with 10:44 remaining in the second half, and held the Quakers to 34% shooting and 3-for-14 on 3-pointers in the second frame.
Earlham hosts Manchester University on Saturday at 3 pm to continue HCAC competition.
