RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's basketball team fell to Manchester University 66-63 on Saturday afternoon in Druley Performance Gym.
After taking a one-point lead with three minutes remaining off of a layup by
Amari Wright, the Quakers went 0-for-5 on possessions. The Spartans tied the game with a free throw with 1:13 remaining, and scored a jumper with 29 seconds remaining to go up 65-63. The final point of the afternoon came on a free throw with six seconds left. The Quakers took over possession at half court after the free throw, but missed two quick shots in the final possession.
Wright scored a team-high 26 points with four steals and four assists.
Gabrielle Watkins recorded her first double-double as a Quaker with 10 rebounds and 11 points while also grabbing a block.
Berkley Shelton brought down eight boards with seven points and two assists.
Earlham will travel to Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday to take on the Lions at 1 pm.
