RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College baseball team dropped a pair of games to Anderson University on Saturday afternoon in Sadler Stadium.
GAME ONE: EARLHAM 2 ANDERSON 13
Hayden Scalf threw four innings in game one with nine hits and six strikeouts.
Braeden Lewis tossed 2.1 frames with three hits allowed.
Mitchell Roether went 2-3 with a run scored and one RBI.
Earlham struck first with a run in the bottom of the first inning off a double by
Noah Rosato up the middle to bring Roether home to score.
Anderson retaliated in the fourth inning, scoring five runs on six hits, and two runs on one hit and one error in the fifth inning.
After a Quaker run in the bottom of the fifth, Anderson scored five runs on four hits in the top of the seventh inning.
GAME TWO: EARLHAM 1 ANDERSON 7
Kyle Jeffries went 7.2 innings with nine hits and three earned runs while recording one strikeout as the starter.
Offensively,
Jonathan Jimenez tallied one run and one RBI on a solo home run to center field in the third inning.
Anderson took an unearned run in the top of the first inning, and scored one run each in the fourth and fifth innings.
The Ravens put up two runs on three hits in the eighth inning, and two runs from four free bases in the ninth.
Earlham has a quick turnaround with a doubleheader tomorrow at Transylvania University beginning at 1 pm.
