EDINBURGH, Indiana – Finally. After a spate of rain-outs, the Earlham Men's Golf team opened the spring season at the SLIAC Preview at Timbergate hosted by Spalding University.

The Quakers finished 5th in the power-packed tournament. Adam Strecker (Sr., Apopka, FL) made the all-tournament team with a T-5 finish, +1 (73-72) and Mychal McKelvey (Sr., Plain City, OH) finished T-11 at +3 (74-73.) Ben Pratt (Sr., Athens, OH) carded a career best +2 74 on Sunday.

Head Coach Matt Brown said, "The guys really golfed their balls this weekend. Shooting a 603 on that great Fuzzy Zoeller course in those conditions is the start we were looking for this spring."

Earlham's men and women teams are both in action next Friday and Saturday at the Earlham Spring Invitational at the Richmond Elks Country Club. Brown added, "We have a full field of 16 teams descending on Richmond next weekend (9 men, 7 women.)  Please come out and support the linksters as we look to add some hardware for the trophy case."
