RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's soccer team opened its 2025 season with a 2-0 loss to Beloit College on Friday in Matlack-Messer Stadium.
Playing in his first game for the Quakers,
Levi Smith led the offense, taking five shots, with two on target. Earlham's leading scorer from last season,
Rhoi Phulusa, took four shots with two on frame. The Quakers outshot the Buccaneers 14-13 in the contest, owing to 12 second-half shots.
Trailing 2-0 in the 74th minute, Phulusa was sent on a through ball and took a touch to his right to get past the Beloit goalkeeper, but was unable to bring the shot back on target.
Ryland Wamsley picked up five saves in goal.
The Quakers continue action tomorrow, hosting Muskingum University in Matlack-Messer at 3 pm.
