OLIVET, Mich. – The Earlham College women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season with a 5-0 final score at The University of Olivet on Wednesday evening.
Mariana Mendez got the scoring started in the second minute of play for the first Quaker goal of the season. Mendez scored two goals on the day on four shots.
Mallory Smith led the Quaker offense with two goals and five shots, including the second goal of the match in the 41st minute of play.
Selena Malave also scored, notching her first career goal for the Quakers with a strike in the 53rd minute.
On the day, Earlham outshot the Comets 21-6, and had a 16-3 advantage in shots on target.
Liz Godfrey started the game in goal, collecting two saves in one half of action.
Hannah Skene closed out the shutout with one save in the second half.
The Quakers travel to Michigan again on Saturday to take on Albion College at 2:30 pm.
