RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's basketball team celebrated Senior Day in Druley Performance Gym on Saturday morning. Seniors
Amari Wright and
Stella Shannon were honored prior to tip-off for their contributions to the women's basketball program.
The Quakers fell 90-63 to Franklin College in the outing.
Wright led the Quakers with 17 points, shooting 3-for-8 on 3-pointers with nine rebounds and three assists.
Gabrielle Watkins scored 12 points with a 50% mark on field goals, two steals and four boards.
Berkley Shelton grabbed 10 rebounds and four blocks, while adding 11 points and four assists offensively.
After trailing 10-2 early in the first quarter, Earlham went on a 14-4 run to tie the game at 16 on a 3-pointer by Wright with 2:44 remaining in the frame. A pair of free throws by Watkins gave EC the lead with 8:24 remaining in the second quarter, but the Grizzlies used a 9-0 run later in the quarter to lead 43-33.
Earlham will host Anderson University on Wednesday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm in Druley Performance Gym.
