BEREA, Ky. – The Earlham College women's basketball team fell to Berea College 70-62 in a road matchup on Wednesday evening.
Berkley Shelton continued to dominate the statsheet for the Quakers, scoring a team-high 22 points, and pulling down a team-high 11 rebounds.
Amari Wright scored 17 points with eight boards, five assists and four steals.
Trailing 8-6, Berea broke the first big run of the game with a 7-0 streak to lead 16-10. The Quakers then worked back the score, and retook the lead with six minutes remaining in the second quarter. A 10-3 run gave the Quakers a 30-25 lead, and Wright put the Quakers on top 33-31 heading into the halftime break with a fast-break layup with four seconds left.

Gabrielle Watkins gave EC a 48-45 lead with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, Berea went on a 10-0 run, and took a 55-48 lead to end the frame. The Mountaineers then scored a 10-2 run to lead 66-54 with just over three minutes left in the game.
Earlham will host Hanover College on Saturday to kick off a doubleheader at 1 pm.
