ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Earlham College tennis teams swept Mount Union in non-conference play on Thursday afternoon.
The women's team scored a 6-1 win, led by
Vanessa Akuaku with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No.1 singles.
Lawrencia Manu won 6-1, 6-1 at No.2, and
Mackenzie Davis won 6-0, 7-6 at No.3 singles.
Natalee McCann and
Antonia Dean also picked up wins at No.5 and No.6 singles.
In doubles play,
Paige Hobbs and McCann led the squad at No.2 doubles with a 6-3 win.
Ava Marroni teamed up with Davis for a 6-1 win at No.3 doubles.
The Quaker men won 5-2 over the Purple Raiders.
Ryan Fox won No.1 singles 6-3, 6-3, with
Ivan Wularu winning No.2 singles 6-4, 6-0.
Dreek Saha won 6-4, 6-0 at No.3 singles, while
Dev Agrawal won No.4 singles 6-2, 6-3 and
Sanjil Magar won No.5 singles 3-6, 7-5, 10-5.
Agrawal paired with Alonso Ribera for the only doubles win on the men's side with a 6-2 score at No.3 doubles.
Earlham is slated to have a busy weekend, hosting Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Berea College on Saturday in the Gene Hambrick Varsity Tennis Center. Indiana University Southeast is then scheduled to play the Quakers in Richmond on Sunday.
