The Yellow Jackets plated two runs on three hits in the top of the third inning, scoring on back-to-back hits to left field.

James walked as the leadoff batter in the bottom of the third inning, and scored after a fielder's choice to second base by Shelby Hill.

Earlham then tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Malaya Tanglao singled with one out, and advanced on a fielder's choice by James. Mack Harvey brought the run home with a two-out single to center field.

The Yellow Jackets then scored six runs on three hits, including a three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to lead 8-2. Rochester added a ninth run on a leadoff homer in the top of the sixth.

In the bottom of the seventh, James led off with a single, and scored from first on a double by Shelton for the final run of the game.

"The game against Rochester didn't go as planned," said Head Coach Stacey Goyette after the loss. " The girls have stepped up to the plate at every turn in the season, so we went out today and gave it our best but came up short. To recap, an amazing season for the Earlham Quakers, it's been phenomenal. These kids managed to find a way to get into the postseason, I couldn't have asked for anything more."
