RICHMOND, Ind. – On Monday, the Earlham College athletics department named
George Rickett head cross country coach.
Rickett joined the Quaker coaching staff in 2024 as a graduate assistant coach for cross country and the distance team in track and field. During Rickett's tenure, Earlham runner
Cleo Saltz won the 5,000 meter run at the 2025 HCAC Championship track meet.
"I'd like to thank Nick Johnson and the administrators for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I look forward to bringing future Earlhamites to this wonderful campus of ours!" Said Rickett on Monday. "The students that I have coached these past two years demonstrate not only remarkable perseverance, but many other quality characteristics that Earlham fosters within them. I am excited to keep working with these individuals."
Rickett officially takes the reins of the cross country program on Monday.
A 2023 graduate of Wilmington College, Rickett earned All-OAC honors twice in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in his career. Rickett also qualified for the 2022 NCAA DIII Cross Country Championship after running a personal best of 24:43.5 in the Great Lakes Regional to finish in 15th place.
