RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College cross country team is set to open its season on Tuesday at Wilmington College. 

THE SCHEDULE

Earlham opens its slate at Wilmington College Tuesday with the Quaker Opener. The Quakers then take on Franklin College at Blue River Cross Country Course on Saturday. Earlham heads to Terre Haute on September 19th for the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State University, and travels to Spalding on October 3rd. Earlham returns to Wilmington College on October 16th for the JennaStrong Invitational as the final tune-up before the conference meet. 

The HCAC Championship meet is set for October 31st on the campus of Manchester University. The Quakers will then have the chance to continue competing in the Great Lakes Regional on November 14th in Michigan. 

THE PLAYERS

Cleo Saltz earned All-HCAC recognition last season after finishing the HCAC Championship meet in 14th place individually. 

THE COACHES

George Rickett takes over this season as Head Cross Country Coach after serving as a Graduate Assistant last year. A 2023 graduate of Wilmington College, Rickett earned All-OAC honors twice in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in his career. Rickett also qualified for the 2022 NCAA DIII Cross Country Championship after running a personal best of 24:43.5 in the Great Lakes Regional to finish in 15th place.

HCAC OUTLOOK

The men's program was picked to finish eighth in the HCAC Preseason Coaches Poll with 25 votes. The Quakers narrowly edged out Bluffton with 23 votes. The Quaker women were picked 10th in the preseason poll with a total of 17 votes.
