HOLLAND, Mich. – The Earlham College volleyball team closed out the Hope Tournament with a pair of losses on Saturday in Michigan.
MATCH ONE: EARLHAM 1 BETHEL 3 (25-15, 25-22, 24-26, 25-17)
Caylee Brandes hit a team-high 14 kills in the first match of the day with a .244 hitting percentage at one block.
Sadie Mae Calma scored 10 kills with 15 assists and 12 digs.
Emma Ledford led the setters with 23 assists and three aces.
Madison Bizjak brought in a team-high 21 digs, while
Addison Piatt collected 19.
As a team, the Quakers scored 46 kills with a .143 hitting percentage.
MATCH TWO: EARLHAM 1 OHIO NORTHERN 3 (25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23)
Brandes came in two kills shy of her career high, tallying 18 with a .125 hitting percentage and two blocks. Calma scored 17, swinging .238 with two aces and a block. Piatt scored 14 kills with 12 digs.
Ledford set a career high with 46 assists and three aces. Bizjak also led the back line with 34 digs.
The Quakers hit a total of 60 kills with a .144 hitting percentage.
The Quakers open conference play on Wednesday evening, hosting Anderson University in Druley Performance Gym. First serve is set for 7 pm.
