NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Earlham College men's soccer team began the HCAC slate with a 1-0 win over Manchester University on Saturday afternoon.
Oscar Wimmer netted his first career goal on a corner kick from
Luke Hamaker in the fourth minute of play to put the Quakers on top. The Quaker defense weathered seven shots, two on goal, from the Spartans in the shutout.
Of the seven Earlham shots on the day, six landed on frame.
Ryland Wamsley made his second start of the season, and collected two saves in the shutout.
The Quakers will host Anderson University on Saturday as part of an HCAC doubleheader. Kickoff of the men's game will be at 3:30 pm.
