Earlham College

A current senior, Tess Cunningham is a force to be reckoned with on the field. Netting four goals this past season for the Quakers, Cunningham’s physicality, communication, and ability to win the ball back makes her a true box to box midfielder. Her contributions on and off the ball helped the quakers achieve their most successful season in 3 years. 
Tess grew up with three brothers that helped push her to become the player she is today. She started playing soccer in kindergarten and hasn’t stopped since. “It has changed a lot over the years, the reason that I have continued to play. But it’s always just been a lot of fun. I like the competition of it and I love being part of a team and getting behind them and investing in them.”
Cunningham is a go-getter and is putting the finishing touches on a global education around biochemistry and neuroscience, while also trying to travel and keep track of social equality and humanitarian issues. This education has taken her to Thailand and the University of Chicago where she interned this past summer studying nicotine addiction. “I am really excited to have another year at Earlham, with my friends, professors, and colleagues and see how I can shape it and see what we can make out of it.”

Why Earlham?

“On my visit I met some of the biology professors and they were so cool that I was like, yeah, I could see myself in classes learning from these people. I could tell that they cared about my education and me as a person and that was like a huge deciding factor.”
