The 2027 season is Slade's second on the Quaker coaching staff.
In his first season leading the pitching staff, Coach Slade helped develop one of the nation's top-performing units, ranking among the NCAA leaders in ERA (16th), BB/9 (10th), K/BB ratio (20th), and WHIP (35th). The staff also led the HCAC in ERA, walks, and home runs allowed while improving its ERA from 5.80 to 4.00. Slade mentored three All-HCAC selections, including First Team honorees Cayman Huntsman and Casey Blevins and Second Team selection Hayden Scalf.
Slade spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Heidelberg University before joining the Quakers.
As a player, Slade spend four years at Bluffton University, where he was named to the HCAC Sportsmanship team.
