Arantxa Rosainz, a former collegiate player at Division II Long Island University and later Division I Ball State University, will return to Earlham field hockey in 2022-23 for her third season as an assistant coach.

She helped oversee the most successful season in program history in the fall of 2021 as the Quakers went 15-4 and hosted the North Coast Athletic Conference Semifinal matchup. Six Quakers received All-NCAC honors at the conclusion of the season, with Denise Bergdolt, Meg Murphy, and Olivia Layne earning a spot on the first team.

Rosainz earned 2019 Zag/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Scholar of Distinction honors, as well as a spot on the NFHCA National Academic Squad, to close out her senior season at Ball State. She played in 17 contests in her senior campaign for Ball State, including a start in the Cardinals’ season opener against Big Ten foe Rutgers.  As a junior, Rosainz saw the field in all 18 games for Ball State with 14 starts.\

She played at LIU Post for two seasons prior to transferring to Ball State, earning Second Team All-Northeast 10 honors as a freshman with five goals and two assists for 12 points to her credit. Rosainz was also tabbed as a Synapse Sports All-Rookie Team selection in her first year. As a sophomore, she charted three goals and three assists for nine points, while leading a defensive unit that held opponents to 19 goals over 20 games for a 0.92 opponent goals against average.

Prior to LIU Post, Rosainz played field hockey at Jalisco State in Guadalajara, Mexico, and helped her team to a first-place finish in 2009, 2010, 2015, and 2016. She was named the 2013 Most Valuable Player and also a member of the Mexico National Team (U-18, U-21, and Senior Team).

Rosainz, who was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, is a 2020 graduate of Ball State University with a degree in advertising. She is the daughter of Fernando Rosainz and Adriana Caloca; and has one sibling, Andoni.
