Earlham College

Kalal Joins the Quakers from Fortville Indiana and plans to study museum studies. Her mom is an artist and Karmen grew up going to the IMA as a kid. She loved exploring all of the art and the environment of museums really inspired her to want to work there one day. Her parents shaped her the most growing up. “My parents have always loved hiking and being outside and that has shaped me into a person that loves the outdoors. All of my love for art comes from my mom and my hardwork and perseverance comes from my dad.” Kalal has only ever played soccer, “I begged my parents to try soccer and it has been the only sport I have ever done, it has always been soccer.”  While in college she hopes to achieve lifelong connections with the people around her and the material that she is studying. “I wanna be one of those people that has a license plate of their college and really loves the school.” She is also proud of the discipline she has been able to develop within herself and is excited to be part of a community that is excited about learning and are passionate about what they are doing. Kalal is an aggressive defender that is good at pressuring attackers and enjoys the chase if an attacker slips through. ECWS is excited to see what Karmen can bring to the program within her first year!

Why Earlham?

“The deciding factor for me goes to the community. I have always been a person with alot of interest and I liked all the programs that are available and how you can do alot of stuff at Earlham. When I toured campus I really liked how everyone was excited about their academics and the sports that they do.”
