Liz Burley grew up in Hamilton, Ohio and plans to coach soccer one day. Growing up her parents helped to shape her values of hard work and focus on academics. Her dad is the one that got her into soccer and she started playing at the age of 6. Previously a winger, Liz switched positions her sophomore season and became an essential piece to the Quaker’s midfield. A quick and physical player, Burley found success disrupting play and helping connect the defense with the attack. Liz has a career 5 goal contributions which is sure to grow as she continues to find her feet in her new position.
Another Women’s National team supporter, Liz is an avid Julie Ertz fan and was a big part of organizing a group from the team to see her last game. “I am inspired by her hard work and strength, it made me want to work harder and be stronger.” Burley is also really proud of the success she has had because of how hard she has worked.
Why Earlham?
“On the visit I really loved the environment. The soccer fields and the locker room made me excited to play soccer, and I liked the small student to teacher ratio.”
