Maddie Coyle joins the Quakers from Batavia, Ohio, and is majoring in biochemistry. Coyle’s mom was the first person to introduce her to soccer and played soccer herself. An initially quiet person off the field, Coyle transforms once the first whistle blows and does not shy away from challenges. “I don’t really care if I get hurt, I like to be fearless.” She can be counted on for big defensive plays. Maddie is an important part of a back line that kept seven clean sheets last season and helped the Quakers to its most successful season in the past four years. A bit of a jokester, Coyle values community; not only her soccer team but her friends as well. “I have been friends with so many different people and every person has changed me for the better.”

“When I visited the campus, it just had that feeling of home. When I went to other places it didn’t automatically feel like that, but Earlham did.”
