Earlham College

Melissa, aka “Teke,” joins the Quakers from Batavia Ohio and plans to study Psychology at Earlham. A fan of Rose Lavelle growing up, Teke got to train with her at X Factor Futbol. “She used to play for my club, and my coach Erin Mikula runs X Factor so growing up I used to train there all the time and Rose was always there training with us.” Teke lost her mom when she was young and feels that really shaped her into the person she is today. “It definitely made me more independent and taught me how to figure things out on my own.” Her mom had played soccer her whole life and introduced Teke to soccer when she was three. She is excited to meet new people in college and is proud of her work rate. “Recently I have been getting up every day at 4:30 to work out before going to work.” She is also someone that values integrity and overcoming adversity. As a player Teke is a strong communicator on the field and a technically sound defender that is reliable in possession. ECWS is excited to see what Teke can bring to the program within her first year!
