Gary and Sims lead Quakers Against Mount St. Joseph

Box Score CINCINNATI, OhioThe Earlham College women's basketball team had two players in double figures on Tuesday as the Quakers fell 79-51 to the College of Mount St. Joseph.

Starr Gary and Jayana Sims led the Quakers with 10 points each, while Nikki Darrett finished with eight points.

Jessica Wooden topped Earlham with six rebounds. Sims, Charvonne Long, Whitney Sparkman, Karmel Brown and Princess Darnell contributed three rebounds apiece. Sims added a pair of assists.

Mount St. Joseph (6-6) grabbed an early advantage and eventually led 42-24 at intermission. In the second half, Earlham closed the gap to 64-48 at the 7:45 mark when Wooden scored, but that was as close as the Quakers could get.

The Quakers (1-8) finish the 2009 portion of their schedule on Thursday at Adrian College. The non-conference contest begins at 2 p.m.
