Quakers Win Second Straight

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Earlham College women's tennis team picked up a 6-3 win at Capital University on Saturday.

The Quakers won all three doubles contests and the top three singles matches.

Olivia Engle (Richmond, IN, Richmond) and Rebecca Ogle (Indianapolis, IN, Brebeuf) teamed up to beat Elizabeth McLaughlin and Michelle Guy 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. Nora Mineva (Pleven, Bulgaria, Lester B. Pearson) and Jessica Childs (North Dighton, MA, Dighton-Rehoboth) defeated Meredith Wedell and Collyn Weaver 8-2 at No. 2.

At No. 3, Bailey Hall (Muncie, IN, Central) and Cory Mathieu (Madison, WI, West) beat E'Ja Jenkins and Colleen Hooks 8-4.

In singles, Engle won 6-2, 6-4 over McLaughlin at No. 1. Ogle beat Guy 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2.

Mineva defeated Wedell 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3.

Earlham (5-7) entertains Indiana University East at the Quakers finish their spring non-traditional season on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
