BLUFFTON, Ohio — The Earlham College women's tennis team won its second straight match with an 8-1 victory at Bluffton University.
"This was a nice win for us on the road and hopefully we can continue to build on the victory," Earlham Head Coach Adam Van Zee said.
The Quakers swept the doubles to begin the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match with the Beavers (0-3, 0-3).
Alex Softness (Atlanta, GA, Paideia School) and
Jessica Childs (Rehoboth, MA, Dighton-Rehoboth) defeated Melissa Hostetler and Caitlyn Nearhood 8-2 at No. 1.
Olivia Engle (Richmond, IN, Richmond) and
Bailey Hall (Muncie, IN, Central) remained unbeaten at 4-0 with an 8-0 win over Ashley Jones and Kelly Helton at No. 2.

Julia Berner-Tobin (Stratham, NH, Exeter Area) teamed with
Vesta Davis (Brooklin, ME, George Stevens Academy) to post an 8-0 victory over Alexia Fox and Tyler Jennings.
In singles, Softness defeated Nearhood 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, while Childs won 6-2, 6-2 over Hostetler at No. 2.
Berner-Tobin beat Helton 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. At. No. 4,
Morgan Springer (Penobscot, Maine, George Stevens Academy) defeated Fox 6-2, 6-0 with Hall beating Jennings 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.
The Quakers (2-2, 2-1) are back in action Wednesday as they entertain Hanover College on the EC Courts at 4:30 p.m.
