NO. MANCHESTER, Ind. — A slow start hurt the Earlham College women's basketball team on Saturday as the Quakers fell 68-41 at Manchester College.
The Spartans (9-4, 5-1), who are in second place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, scored the first 22 points of the contest and built a 34-10 advantage by halftime.
The teams were close to even in the second period as Manchester edged Earlham 34-31.
Nikki Darrett (Evansville, IN, Bosse) led the Quakers with 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Bria Sneed (Indianapolis, IN, University) finished with 11 points and a pair of assists.
Danielle Altman (Carthage, IN, Knightstown) added five rebounds.
Earlham (3-10, 1-5) returns to action on Wednesday as the Quakers entertain Bluffton University. The HCAC affair on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center begins at 7:30 p.m.
