RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College women's basketball team faced Transylvania University on Wednesday in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game.
The Pioneers won 75-50 over the Quakers on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
Bria Sneed (Indianapolis, IN, University) led the Quakers with 14 points with
Kasin Spay (Muncie, IN, Delta) tossing in nine points.
Emily Sells (Winchester, IN, Winchester) added seven points and
JaLissa Watt (St. Louis, MO, St. Elizabeth Academy ) finished with six points.
Charvonne Long (Edwardsville, IL, Edwardsville) topped the Quakers with seven rebounds.
Transylvania (4-1, 2-0) grabbed an early lead with the Pioneers building a 15-4 advantage with 14:27 remaining in the first half.
The Quakers scored the next six points to cut the deficit to 15-10 when Sneed scored at the 10:47 mark.
The Pioneers finished the period with a decisive run and eventually led 37-24 at halftime.
In the second half, Transylvania widened its margin on the way to the win.
Earlham (1-7, 0-2) travels to Franklin College on Saturday for a HCAC contest at 3 p.m.
