Quakers Visit Hanover

Box Score HANOVER, Ind. — The Earlham College women's basketball team fell 80-52 at Hanover College on Saturday afternoon in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game.

Nikki Darrett (Evansville, IN, Bosse) led the Quakers with 17 points and seven rebounds. She also had three assists.

Bria Sneed (Indianapolis, IN, University) tossed in 10 points and had five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Karmell Brown (Columbus, OH, Columbus School for Girls) tossed in eight points, while Kate Franks (Hopewell, OH, West Muskingum ) and JaLissa Watt (St. Louis, MO, St. Elizabeth Academy ) pulled down five rebounds each.

Hanover (16-4, 12-2) started the contest with an 11-2 advantage at the 16:56 mark of the opening period.

A 3-pointer by Darrett closed the gap to 11-7 with 14:25 left in the first half.

The Quakers got to within a point twice with the last time at 10:55 when Sneed scored to make it 15-14.

The Panthers followed with 12 straight points to build a 27-14 lead at 6:11. By halftime, Hanover led 38-23.

In the second half, the Quakers cut the deficit to 13 points twice with the final time coming on a basket by Emily Sells at 17:46.

Earlham (3-18, 1-13) is at Defiance College on Wednesday. The HCAC game gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
