RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College women's tennis team opened the season with an 8-1 loss at home on Saturday to Franklin College.

Olivia Engle (Richmond, IN, Richmond) picked up Earlham's victory with a win at No. 1 singles in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference affair with the Grizzlies (1-1, 1-0). Engle defeated Heather Pasek 6-3, 6-0.

Earlham (0-1, 0-1) is back in action on Sunday with another home contest against Miami University-Hamilton at 1 p.m.
