Quakers Face Engineers at Home

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — A late rally by the Earlham College women's basketball team came up short on Wednesday as the Quakers fell 65-58 to the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

The Quakers led 4-0 early before the Engineers (5-7, 1-4) scored the next nine points to lead 9-4 with 13:46 left in the first half of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

JaLissa Watt (St. Louis, MO, St. Elizabeth Academy ) scored to close the gap to 15-14 with 10:27 to go in the opening period, but Rose-Hulman was able to widen its margin to 33-18 by intermission.

In the second half, Rose-Hulman built a 45-22 lead at the 15:14 mark before the Quakers started to come back.

Kasin Spay (Muncie, IN, Delta) hit a 3-pointer with 8:23 remaining to cut the deficit to 47-35.

The Quakers continued to rally and they got as close as five points on three occasions in the final minute of the game.

Bria Sneed (Indianapolis, IN, University) led the Quakers with 26 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Raven Bryant-Williams (Columbus, OH, Northland) tossed in seven points and grabbed four rebounds.

Charvonne Long (Edwardsville, IL, Edwardsville) and Spay each finished with six points.

Earlham (1-11, 0-5) faces Manchester University at home on Saturday. The HCAC contest gets underway at 1 p.m.
