LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Earlham College women's basketball team had a pair of players in double figures on Wednesday night as the Quakers fell 73-57 at Transylvania University.
JaLissa Watt (St. Louis, MO, St. Elizabeth Academy) led the Quakers with 18 points and five steals in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference affair.
Kiara Scott (Indianapolis, IN, North Central) finished with 11 points.
Raven Bryant-Williams (Columbus, OH, Northland) topped the Quakers with six rebounds, while
Emily Sells (Winchester, IN, Winchester) added three assists.
The contest was tied early after Watt scored to make it 10-10 with 12:55 remaining in the opening stanza.
The Pioneers (16-4, 12-1) went on a 9-0 run to go on top 19-10 at the 10:34 mark.
By intermission, Transylvania had a 38-25 advantage.
In the second half, Watt scored with 5:19 left to play to cut the Earlham deficit to 60-50, but that was as close as the Quakers could get.
Earlham (3-17, 2-11) is back in action on Saturday at home against Hanover College. The HCAC contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center gets underway at 1 p.m.
