In the singles competition, Locklear beat Luke Buchanan 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1. Richter posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Duncan at No. 2.

At No.3, Jack Ventura-Cruess (Placentia, CA, El Dorado) defeated Murray 6-2, 6-2 and Maisey took care of Spencer Walter 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4.

"If we don't pick up our play for this weekend, we won't even be competitive against the level we will see," Van Zee said. "I was happy with Scott Lawrence and his play."

The Quakers (7-0) travel to DePauw University on Saturday. Earlham plays the University of Chicago at 2 p.m. Later in the day, the Quakers meet DePauw at 7 p.m.
