EC Visits HCAC Leader

Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky. â€" The Earlham College women's basketball team faced the top team in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday night as the Quakers fell 101-66 at Transylvania University.

Bria Sneed led the Quakers with 15 points, which gives her 1,026 in her career. Sneed moved into 10th place on Earlham's scoring list as she passed Teresa Page (1990-94), who has 1,019 points.

Maya Luney, Lexi McFarland and Hannah Franklin finished with seven points each. Franklin added three assists.

Kasin Spay had six points and a team-high five rebounds.

The Pioneers (13-1, 7-0) started the contest with a 10-3 lead by the 18:27 mark of the first half.

A basket by McFarland got the Quakers to within 12-9 at 15:55.

Transylvania responded with a run to got on top 22-11 with 11:56 on the clock.

Luney cut the deficit 22-15 with 10:41 remaining before halftime, the Pioneers answered to build a 47-31 advantage by intermission.

In the second half, Transylvania was able to maintain its distance as the Pioneers won their 12th straight.

Earlham (6-8, 2-5) is back in action on Saturday as the Quakers entertain Anderson University. The HCAC contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center gets underway at 1 p.m.
