RICHMOND, Ind. â€" The Earlham College women's basketball team battled the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Wednesday night on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
The Engineers won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference affair 62-57.
Raven Bryant-Williams topped the Quakers with 19 points and five rebounds.
Bria Sneed finished with nine points. Sneed now has 998 points in a her career and she is just two points away from becoming the 11th player to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
Lexi McFarland also tossed in nine points with four assists, while Kasin Spay and Hannah Franklin had eight points each.
Earlham started the contest with an 8-3 advantage when Kiara Scott scored at the 15:24 mark.
Later in the opening period, Franklin scored to put the Quakers on top 12-5 at 12:41.
Rose-Hulman (5-7, 3-2) answered with a run to take a 15-14 lead with 9:02 left in the frame.
Both teams held small leads from that point with Bryant-Williams giving the Quakers their last lead of the first half at 22-21 with 5:16 left to play.
The Engineers eventually led 32-28 by halftime.
In the second half, the Quakers fought back to lead 35-34 at 15:36 when Bryant-Williams hit a basket and followed with a free throw.
A pair of free throws by Bryant-Williams gave the Quakers their widest margin at 41-36 at 13:41.
The score was tied at 46-46 with 6:59 remaining in the game. From that point, the Engineers were able to establish a lead that they held on to the rest of the way.
The Quakers (5-7, 1-4) visit the College of Mount St. Joseph on Saturday for a conference contest that starts at 1 p.m.
