RICHMOND, Ind. — After falling behind by double figures early in Saturday's contest, the Earlham College women's basketball team bounced back with a 57-54 victory over Kenyon College.

Kasin Spay hit what turned out to be the game-winning shot to make it 55-54 with 1:07 left in the non-conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Hannah Franklin finished the afternoon for the Quakers with a basket with 21 seconds remaining before the Ladies (1-4) missed a pair of 3-point shot attempts in the final moments.

Franklin led the Quakers with 16 points in the non-conference contest, while Spay finished with 15 points and five rebounds.

Lexi McFarland tossed in eight points. JaLissa Watt and Mariah Flynn had six points each with Flynn adding five rebounds.

Kenyon jumped out to a 12-2 advantage by the 15:08 mark of the opening period.

The Ladies were able to maintain their lead, but the Quakers were fighting their way back.

Eventually, a basket by Franklin tied the game at 18-18 with 4:09 remaining in the half.

Flynn scored for Earlham as the first half ended to put the Quakers on top 29-26 at the intermission.

In the second half, Kenyon was able to work its way to a 43-39 lead midway through the frame.

At that point, both squads held small leads with Kenyon holding a 54-50 advantage at the 2:27 mark.

Earlham was able to shut down Kenyon the rest of the way to set the stage for the victory.

The Quakers (2-2) are back on the court at Bluffton University on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference affair starts at 7:30 p.m.
