Box Score WILMINGTON, Ohio — The Earlham College women's basketball team traveled to Wilmington on Tuesday as the Quakers dropped an 82-71 decision.
Kasin Spay led Earlham with 21 points and eight rebounds.
Lexi McFarland tossed in 16 points, while Hannah Franklin added 12 points.
Earlham grabbed an early advantage in the first half. Spay hit a 3-pointer to make it 9-3 at the 16:35 mark.
Hannah Dyer scored to make it 12-6 with 15:28 to go in the period.
McFarland gave Earlham's its largest lead at 16-7 with 14:14 remaining in the opening stanza.
After Wilmington (7-3) scored five straight points, Spay drilled a 3-pointer to help Earlham maintain a 19-12 lead with 10:43 on the clock.
Wilmington put together a run that had the home team on top 25-23 at 5:32. By the intermission, Wilmington led 42-30.
In the second half, Earlham cut the deficit to seven points on five occasions with the last coming with 5:37 left to play as Mariah Flynn scored to close the gap to 70-63.
Earlham (3-7) resumes play in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Saturday at Franklin College. The game gets underway at 1 p.m.
