Quakers Blank Mauauders

RICHMOND, Ind. â€" The Earlham College men's tennis team swept Central State University on Thursday as the Quakers won their fourth straight match.

Ranked No. 10 in latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Men's Central Region Poll, the Quakers dropped only a pair of games in the doubles competition.

Anton Bartashevich and Jack Ventura-Cruess defeated Ammon Russell and Byron Johnson 8-2 at No. 1.

Hank Levin and Phillip Locklear beat Brandon Gonzalez and Addison Pettiford 8-0 in the No. 2 position, while Scott Lawrence and Andrey Gavrilov won by the same score over LeDonte Body and Thelanious Prioleau at No. 3.

In singles play, Ventura-Cruess took care of Russell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1. Levin beat Johnson 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2.

At No. 3, Locklear posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Pettiford. Lawrence beat Gonzalez 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4.

Matthew Foster defeated Prioleau 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 and Gavrilov blanked Body 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

Earlham (10-5) travels to Case Western Reserve University on Saturday for a non-conference contest at 3 p.m.
