HANOVER, Ind. – The Earlham College tennis teams continued HCAC action at Hanover College on Saturday.
The Quaker men's team scored its first win over Hanover since the program was reinstated in 2022 with a 6-1 final score.
Ryan Fox led the way with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No.1 singles.
Ivan Wularu picked up a 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 win at No.3 singles, and
Juan Diego Pachon Hernandez won at No.4 singles 6-0, 6-3.
Dreek Saha scored a 6-0, 6-0 win at No.5 singles and
Zinedine Purbo won 6-3, 2-0 at No.6 singles.
In doubles play, Saha and Wularu teamed up for a 7-5 win at No.1, while Fox and
Christos Xirokostas won 6-3 at No.2.
The Quaker women fell 4-3 at Hanover.
Vanessa Akuaku won her battle at No.1 singles 6-2, 6-3, while
Lawrencia Manu and
Mackenzie Davis won at No.2 and No.3 singles.
Earlham is slated to travel to Transylvania University to continue HCAC play next weekend.
