CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Earlham College women's basketball team had five players in double figures on Saturday as the Quakers beat Mount St. Joseph University 76-61.

JaLissa Watt and Kiara Scott led the way with 15 points each in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game. Watt finished with 11 rebounds for the third double-double of her career. She also had six steals.

Kasin Spay and Mariah Flynn tossed in 11 points apiece, while Hannah Dyer added 10 points. Spay is now 36 points away from the 1,000-point mark for her career.

Hannah Franklin contributed eight points and a team-high six assists.

After the Lions (5-14, 1-11) began the contest with a 5-0 advantage, the Quakers bounced back to tie the game at 7-7 with 14:02 left in the opening period.

Mount St. Joseph tied the affair at 9-9 at the 10:36 mark before the Quakers scored the next 10 points to take control with 9:10 remaining. By the intermission, Earlham was on top 36-25.

In the second half, the Lions cut into Earlham's lead to make it 40-35 with 14:11 left to go. The Quakers answered with another 10-0 run to take a 50-35 lead after Spay scored with 10:15 to play.

The Lions cut their deficit to 52-47 with 7:01 on the clock, but that was as close as they could get the rest of the way.

Earlham (6-13, 3-9) faces the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at home on Wednesday. The HCAC game on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
