TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Earlham College women's basketball team fell 78-53 to the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday.

The Quakers trailed from the start of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference affair, but they were able take over the lead by halftime.

Earlham took the lead with 3:37 left in the first half when Mariah Flynn scored making it 23-22.

The Quakers got their lead up to a high of four points twice in the first half before finishing the period with a 31-29 lead over the Engineers (7-5, 3-2).

With the first points of the second half, Rose-Hulman took the lead with a 3-point shot making the score 32-31. The Engineers would hold off the Quakers through the rest of the game.

The Quakers were led by Kasin Spay and Hannah Dyer, who both scored 12 points. Flynn had 10 points.

Flynn and Kiara Scott topped the Quakers with four rebounds each, while JaLissa Watt had five steals.

The Quakers (3-9, 0-5) will be back in action on Saturday at home against Mount St. Joseph University. The HCAC contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center is at 1 p.m.
