Box Score BLUFFTON, Ohio – Junior Hannah Franklin, who tallied 16 points, led the Quakers in scoring for the third straight game, but Bluffton University shot 54.5 percent from the field as the Beavers defeated the Earlham College women's basketball team 79-50 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Wednesday.
The Beavers (22-2), who are having the best season in school history, led 26-14 after the first quarter and 42-28 at halftime.
Kaitlyn Pennekamp led all scorers with 18 points while Taylor Whitaker added 15 points and Kaycee Rowe added 14 points for Bluffton.
Senior Kiara Scott joined Franklin finishing in double figures with 10 points. Junior Maya Luney added eight points in 16 minutes off of the bench.
The Quakers finished 20-54 (37 percent) from the field, but failed to hit a three-pointer (0-10). The Beavers finished 4-14 from beyond the arc.
Bluffton finished with 33 rebounds while Earlham added 28 rebounds including nine offensive boards.
Earlham concludes its 2015-16 season on Saturday at Mount St. Joseph. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
