TERRE HAUTE, Indiana – The Earlham College women's tennis team fell to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to conclude the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) portion of the Quakers' schedule on Saturday.
Despite the loss, Earlham has qualified for the HCAC Tournament as the No. 6 seed thanks to victories over Defiance College and Mount St. Joseph University earlier this year. The Quakers will face Rose-Hulman in an HCAC Tournament quarterfinal match on Friday, Oct. 20.
The Fightin' Engineers took all three doubles flights. The closest match came at third doubles where senior Lexi Aligarbes and freshman Kathryn Hulleman fell 8-4 to Caroline Johnson and Beata Barati.
Junior Yunjoo Shin provided the closest singles match, but ultimately Bella Evans took second singles 6-3, 6-2. Rose-Hulman won all over singles flights surrendering two games or less.
The Quakers (6-7, 2-5 HCAC) host Indiana Institute of Technology on Monday to close out the regular season.
