Women's tennis stopped by Defiance College

RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College women's tennis had only three players available for its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match against Defiance College, and fell to the visiting Yellow Jackets, 9-0, on Wednesday evening at the EC Tennis Courts.

Abby Stewart and Camille van der Vaart were the lone Earlham doubles pairing, where they dropped a hard-fought 8-4 decision to Defiance's Rylea Amspaugh and Robyn Otey.

Neither Stewart nor van der Vaart were able to pick up a point in singles play, and Gloria Aligbe also fell in straight sets at no. 3 singles.

Earlham continues HCAC play on Saturday, Sept. 28, when it travels to Cincinnati, Ohio, to play Mount St. Joseph.
