HOW IT HAPPENED
The Quakers gave the host Panthers a good fight through the first quarter, matching Hanover through the first five minutes and trailing by just six points, 19-13, through the first 10 minutes.
After the two teams traded buckets early in the second stanza, things quickly got away from the Quakers. A 6-0 Hanover run put the Panthers in front by double digits, 27-15, with 7:12 remaining in the frame. The Panthers got on a roll toward the end of the quarter by increased their lead to 18 points, 39-21, with under a minute remaining, before a 3-pointer and a layup by junior Kayla Bowling in the final 22 seconds cut the halftime margin to 39-26.
Hanover outscored Earlham 19-11 in the third quarter, including a 10-0 run over the final three minutes of the frame, to extend its lead to 58-37 through 30 minutes. The Quakers managed to close the deficit slightly in the fourth quarter, but never threatened the Hanover lead.
