However the Engineers opened the second quarter with a 7-0 run to extend their lead to nine, 23-14, and Rose-Hulman held a 32-24 lead at the halftime intermission.

The game remained a one-possession affair for the remainder of the frame, and a Camryn White fast-break layup in the final minute of the quarter left the game deadlocked at 40-40 after 30 minutes of play.
Rose-Hulman scored the first six points of the fourth quarter and nosed out to a 46-40 lead, and a 7-0 run for the Engineers later in the frame resulted in a 57-44 Rose-Hulman lead with 1:36 remaining.
