RICHMOND -- The Earlham College men's soccer team fell to Bluffton University 2-0 in HCAC competition on Wednesday afternoon.
The Quakers fell to 0-12 (0-5 HCAC) while the Beavers improved to 7-4 (3-2 HCAC).
The Beavers' two goals came near the halftime break, with one before and one after. A Bluffton attacker got control of the ball off of a throw in and took a long shot to score the first goal. Then, after halftime another Beaver was sent on a through ball into a one-on-one opportunity on goal.
Tyler Smith came out off his line but was beaten on the corner.
Earlham was narrowly out-shot 19-16 and lost out in corner kicks 7-2.
Kevin Arias led the Quakers in shots with five, and three on goal.
Smith collected seven saves in the loss.
Earlham travels to Manchester University on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. contest, immediately following the women's contest.
